The latest addition to our portfolio of financial and investment websites, JOHCM Private Equity went live today replacing their old web presence with a much more up to date website. Our experience with Haystack (now Sortfolio)

So, we’ve been listed under London on Haystack for a few weeks now. With the site being newly launched and only a couple of other people having a paid listing we thought we would give it a go and see what happens, it’s only $99 after all.

According to Analytics we’re getting an average of 10 visits per day sent from Haystack which isn’t too bad. The problem is that most of these visitors are from the US – only one visitor every day is from the UK and slightly less than that are actually from London.

Since we signed up the number of paid listings on the London page has increased and so has the daily number of visitors we receive. This week we’re averaging a huge 13 every day :)

We’ve got another week until our first month is up and then we’ll make the decision whether to continue paying for a listing. At the moment it doesn’t look like it’s going to be worth it unless our exposure to the UK market increases.

Check out the new website

After a couple of years of neglect we’ve let Danny, our new designer, loose on the Ideal Websites site. We found that people only ever looked at the portfolio and contact info so we’ve stripped out the rest and gone for a minimalist approach.

PlayerWanted.co.uk goes live!

PlayerWanted, a joint venture between Ideal Websites and Ferrari Press Agency launches today.

PlayerWanted.co.uk is a unique free service for all sports which gives players the chance to find a club or team in their area in their preferred sport and enables coaches and managers to post adverts for new players.

It is the brainchild of youth football manager and dad Adam Gilham, who runs an Under 11s team with FA Charter Standard club Beacons FC in South East London.

He found it hard to advertise for players and realised how daunting it was for parents and players to find a club near them.

He said: “Like many coaches, I’ve used local papers to advertise for players but not all of them have a Players Wanted section and even then it is very hit and miss.”

“Speaking to fellow managers, I realised how hard it was to try and advertise for new players and that there was no national database out there where coaches could advertise for players in a simple way – so I decided to create one myself.”
